A round thatched hut in the Lesotho highlands, a camera, and rays fired through every pixel. A NeRF stores the whole scene as a function from a point to a density and a colour; each pixel marches along its ray, sampling as it goes, and adds up what it meets. Then take too few samples, drop the positional encoding, or nudge the camera poses and watch the picture fail. This lesson needs JavaScript.
